For nearly a decade I was an adherent of the religious/political cult known as MOVE. Thankfully, I was able to extricate myself from this dangerous sect and reclaim control of my life. The story of how I left MOVE was featured in the Philadelphia Inquirer in 2004. Much of my current work has to do with the murder of John Gilbride in 2002. John was killed while in the midst of a highly contentious custody dispute with the leader of MOVE.

How was Mumia involved in the May 13th assault on the MOVE house? I didn't think he was a MOVE member but just wrote about it.
I ask because one person said Mumia exposed information about the assault and that's why he's on death row. Spin spin spin...
It's pretty ironic. Right before seeing that Tony had posted this video, my wife was lurking around youtube and watching videos about the Westboro Babtist Church. We had a discussion of how sick it is how those kids are indoctrinated.
And then I watch this video and see the MOVE kids regurgitating their propaganda. Their first words taught to them being long live john africa. Psychologically abused in too many ways to mention here.
The parallels are scary.
Mumia was in jail on May 13th 1985 and not even a blip on anyone's radar screen.
Yes, the parallels are there and are scary between the Westboro Baptist Church and MOVE. They share the same authoritarian tactics of indoctrination.
But when it comes to the abuse of children I think MOVE is far worse given the child rape and complete educational deprevation that goes on in the cult.
